B. To take away, remove, destroy: erilem filiam, Plaut. Cist. 2, 3, 8: has aedes totas, id. Mil. 2, 3, 39: sustolli ab his locis, Arn. 2, 60.

Origins

From sub- + tollō. The lack of a past system is illogical, but tollō itself seems to be the culprit due to that verb's perfect being stolen by ferō.
