Stenus

Stenus a river of Thrace, mentioned by Mela only (2.2.8) as near Maronea, on the south coast. The name is probably corrupt, as it occurs in the MSS. in a great variety of forms,--Stenos, Stonos, Schoenus, Scenus, Sithenos, &c. (See Tzschucke, ad loc.).
