Membresa
Μέμβρησα
Membresa (Μέμβρησα), a town of the proconsular province, the position of which is fixed by Procopius (B. V. 2.15) at 350 stadia from Carthage. Membressa (Membrissa, Peut. Tab.), as it is called in the Antonine Itinerary, was a station between Musti, and Silicibba, and a place of some importance in ecclesiastical history. (Morcelli, Africa Christiana, vol. i. p. 223.)
