Intelene
Ἰντηληνή
Intelene (Ἰντηληνή), one of the five provinces W. of the Tigris, ceded, in A.D. 297, by Narses to Galerius and the Romans. (Petr. Patr. Fr. 14, Fraym. Hist. Graec. ed. Muller; Gibbon, c. xiii.) St. Martin, in his note to Le Beau (Bas Empire, vol. j. p. 380), would read for Intelene, Ingilene (Ἰγγιλήνη), the name of a small province of Armenia near the sources of the Tigris mentioned by Epiphanius (Haeres. LX. vol. i. p. 505, ed Valesius; comp. St. Martin, Mém. sur l'Armenie, vol. i. pp. 23, 97.)
