Cephalonesus
Κεφαλόνησος
Cephalonesus (Κεφαλόνησος), a small island at the E. end of the ACHILLEOS DROMOS in the mouth of the Carcinites Sinus, off the W. side of the isthmus of the Chersonesus Taurica (Plin. Nat. 4.13. s. 27; Ptol. 3.5.8). Ammianus Marcellinus erroneously makes it an inland city on the Borysthenes.
