Acherdus

Ἀχερδοῦς,--οῦντος

Acherdus (Ἀχερδοῦς,--οῦντος: Eth. Ἀχερδούσιος), a demus of Attica of uncertain site, belonging to the tribe Hippothoontis. Aristophanes (Aristoph. Eccl. 362) in joke, uses the form Ἀχραδούσιος instead of Ἀχερδούσιος. (Steph. B. sub voce s. vv. Ἀχερδοῦς, Ἀχραδοῦς; Aeschin. in Tim. § 110, ed. Bekker; Leake, Demi of Attica, p. 185.)
