Philetas

2. Of Samos, the author of two epigrams in the Greek Anthology, which are distinguished in the Vatican MS. by the heading Φιλιτᾶ Σαμίου. In the absence of any further information, we must regard him as a different person from Philetas of Cos, who, though sometimes called a Rhodian (probably on account of the close connection which subsisted between Cos and Rhodes), is never spoken of as a ailian.
