Nicolaus
an Athenian sculptor, whose name is inscribed, together with that of Criton, on a colossal Caryatid, found in 1766 in the vineyard of the house Strozzi, near Rome, on the Appian road. Winckelmann ascribes the work to the time of Cicero, Müller to that of the Antonines. (Winckelmann, Gesch. d. Kunst, bk. 11.1.14; Müller, Archäol. d. Kunst, § 204, n. 5.)
