Diesilaus
Δεσίλαος
(Δεσίλαος), a statuary, whose Doryphorus and wounded Amazon are mentioned by Pliny (34.8. s. 19.15). There is no reason to believe, with Meyer and Müller, that the name is a corruption of Ctesilaüs; but, on the contrary, the wounded Amazon in the Vatican, which they take for a copy of the work of Ctesilaüs, is probably copied from the Amazon of Desilaüs. (Ross, Kunstblatt, for 1840, No. 12.) [CRESILAS.]
