Lex Pompeia

Lex Pompeia DE JURE MAGISTRATUUM (Sueton. Caesar, 28; Cic. Att. 8.3, 3, cf. Phil. 2.10, 24; D. C. 40.56) forbade candidature for public offices by persons who were not at Rome: but C. Julius Caesar was excepted from its operation. This was doubtless the old law, but it appears to have become obsolete.
