Lex Hortensia

Lex Hortensia DE NUNDINIS, of about the same date, enacted that the market days, which had hitherto been Feriae, should be dies fasti. This was done for the purpose of accommodating the inhabitants of the country (Macrob. Saturn. 1.16; Plin. Nat. 18.13).
