Lex Genucia
Lex Genucia DE FENORE, B.C. 343, forbade taking interest for the use of money (Liv. 7.42; Tac. Ann. 6.16). It was persistently evaded (Liv. 35.7), and eventually altogether disregarded (Plut. Cato Major, 21; Appian, App. BC 1.54).
