Diota
δίωτος
Diota (δίωτος), a vessel with two ears (ὦτα) or handles, is generally used as synonymous with amphora, though it may signify any two-handled vessel. (Plat. Hipp. Maj. p. 288 D; Athen. 11. 473 c; Hor. Carm. 1.9.8.) Annexed is the figure of a diota of the earliest style; for its ordinary shape, see AMPHORA
