verb
dantiāre
*dantiāre
Meaning
- reconstructionto dance
Origins
Uncertain and highly debated. Perhaps in one way or another from Proto-West Germanic *þansōn. It could instead be related to *þį̄han (“to thrive”), see also Dutch deinen (“to bob up and down”); however, the -a- would remain unexplained.
